REVALIDATION

  • When the request is made in a period of more than 45 days or the certificate is expired.

    Procedure:

    Depending on the date of the renewal request:

    • Less than 2 years _____ Revalidation aeronautical medical examination
    • More than 2 years ______ the AEMEC or AME will only carry out the aeronautical medical renewal examination after evaluating the aeronautical medical records of the applicant.
    • More than 5 years _____ The aeronautical medical examination requirements will be applied for the initial expedition and the evaluation will be based on the revalidation requirements.
  • When the request is made within 45 days prior to the expiration of the medical certificate.

The applicant for a medical examination must provide the following documents:

  • Identification. – By Official Document (Passport or equivalent) within date.
  • Previous medical certificate. – If it is a renewal or revalidation examination, the medical certificate of the last examination carried out must be provided.
  • Ophthalmologist’s prescription. –If glasses or contact lenses are used, they should be brought to the consultation, along with a report from the ophthalmologist or optometrist who prescribed them, where the refraction data (graduation) are recorded.
  • Medical reports. – In the event of suffering from any chronic disease or the effect of a previous one (medical, surgical or psychiatric), reports from the family doctor or the corresponding specialists will be provided on the current evolution and treatment.
  • Arrive on an empty stomach. –minimum of 6 hours.
  • Report all medicationused, both regularly, and if any medication/drugs have been consumed in the last 72 hours.

  • A consent form for medical examination.
  • Request to complete with your personal data, health declaration and personal and family medical history.
  • Consent and authorization for the determination of drugs in urine.
  • The aeronautical medical examination begins with the extraction of blood by the nursing unit and the request of a urine sample by the patient. These samples will be analysed by our SYNLAB Reference Laboratory according to the requirements of current regulations and five drugs will be tested: amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, opiates and barbiturates.

Next, the following tests will be performed depending on the type of examination and periodicity: ophthalmological examination, spirometry (Peak Flow), electrocardiogram, audiometry in cabin, weight and height.

Once these tests have been carried out, a consultation with an SMA doctor will be carried out, who will perform the anamnesis, general examination, cardiopulmonary auscultation, ophthalmological, neurological and psychological examination.

  • The following specialists authorised by AESA will participate in the initial class 1 and 3 medical examinations: ENT doctor, ophthalmologist, psychiatrist, cardiologist and aeronautical psychologist to carry out an exploration and complementary tests that determine the current regulations.

Upon completion, the medical certificate will be issued as soon as possible and will be sent by email by AESA.
